Setting up Shopify Store Settings

When you login in to your Shopify store you will see Settings on bottom of the left bar. When you click you will see all the settings.

Here are the settings

General

This section contains store name and email. 

This section also contains business name, phone and address, these details have to be complete to set up shipping and payment. This section also allows to select weight units and time zone. 

Checkout

In this section you can select whether you want o use user accounts or not. Having customer accounts is good idea. If a user has an account you can see statistics of his/her purchase and offer special discounts. Select  checkout language  or modify text used and change other checkout options.

Payment

This section allows you to select how you would like to receive payments. It allows you to select PayPal, ApplePay, custom payment options(For example Cash on Delivery) and supports many payment gateways to accept payments form Debit and Credit Cards. Shipping

 In this section you can add shipping zones and shipping costs. You can create different zones and create separate rates for shipping. Shopify allows to select shipping rates based on weight or order amount. For more details on Setting up Shipping/ Postage rates on Shopify Store click here. 

 

Taxes

This section allows you to set up taxes on your sales. It automatically adds taxes based on location and tax regulations of the country but you can change those. For Europe it automatically adds VAT and for USA it automatically adds Sales Tax.

Notifications

In this section you can choose who receives notifications of events on store. Some examples of events are order placed, order shipped etc. You can also change the format of notifications sent to the customer. But it normally requires knowledge of HTML/ CSS and Liquid to change these. 

Gift Cards

Here you can modify settings related to gift card for Shopify store. 

Files

Here you can upload files that you can use in product descriptions or pages.

Sales Channels

Shopify allows to sell using online store, Point of Sale (POS) and other sales channels. You can setup channels here.

Account

Here you can see details of admins added to your store, change those details or add other admins to the store. Shopify calls these admins Staff Member
